MGM Resorts International customers had their personal and financial information exposed in two cybersecurity attacks carried out by third-party intruders, one in or around July 2019 and another in or around September 2023. Several class actions were filed across Canada seeking compensation, including the Zuckerman Class Action in Québec, the Thandi Class Action in British Columbia, and the Dahan Class Action in Québec.
The parties have reached a proposed national settlement under which MGM will pay CAD $4,000,000 to resolve all three proceedings. MGM denies all allegations and no court has found it liable. The settlement must be approved by the courts before any claims process opens, and a hearing before the Superior Court of Québec was scheduled for May 20, 2026.
