Mr. Spiros Konstas brought a class action in the Superior Court of Quebec against the Réseau de transport métropolitain (exo) and the Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM). He alleged that they failed to meet their obligations, causing service disruptions on the Deux-Montagnes and Mascouche commuter train lines during the winter of 2017-2018. Exo and ARTM deny the allegations.

To avoid a trial expected to last about 2 months, the parties reached a settlement without any admission of fault, and the court approved it on March 16, 2026. Riders who paid for monthly or annual train passes or train booklets can claim a payment, while people who only bought 1-trip tickets are compensated indirectly through a payment of a maximum of $75,000 to Trajectoire Québec.
