The defendants reported on the breach between August 2022 and March 2023. A class action was filed in the Supreme Court of British Columbia in February 2023 on behalf of Canadian customers affected by the breach.\n\nThe defendants deny any wrongdoing but agreed to settle. The settlement provides US$3,000,000 to resolve all claims, covering legal fees, costs, taxes, and administration. The court certified the case for settlement on September 22, 2025 and approved the settlement on February 18, 2026.
